About Us

Our Story

Twenty years of custom millwork in Nashville — built on consistency, quality, and a commitment to getting better every year.

Our Story

Built in Nashville. Built to Last.

Jared and Ezra Whitson didn’t set out to build a millwork company. They came to Nashville chasing music — the way a lot of people do. Woodworking started as a way to pay the rent. Then something shifted. The craft took hold, the way Nashville has a habit of redirecting people toward what they’re actually meant to do.

In 2005, they started Whitson Bros out of the basement of a small East Nashville house. No outside investment, no shortcuts. Just two brothers, a commitment to quality work, and a willingness to let the business grow at the pace it earned.

The early years were slow. There were recessions that tested the books and a tornado that came close enough to threaten everything they’d built. They kept going anyway — learning, adapting, and holding the same standard on every job regardless of size. That consistency is what brought clients back. And it’s what built the business into what it is today.

Twenty years later, Whitson Bros operates out of a Nashville shop serving commercial and residential clients across Middle Tennessee. The tools have changed. The scale has grown. The standard hasn’t moved.

As we look ahead to the next twenty years — a new facility, new technology, new capabilities — we’re just as excited about what’s ahead as we were standing in that East Nashville basement. The craft is the same. We’re just better at it.

Values

What We Believe

All millwork is fabricated in our Nashville shop using CNC-assisted production for precision and consistency. This fall we’re expanding into a larger facility with new equipment that will significantly increase our output capacity — without changing the standards we hold every piece to.

We believe quality and responsibility aren’t competing priorities. The materials worth building with are usually the ones worth sourcing carefully. That philosophy runs through everything we specify, from the hardwood ply in our residential cabinetry to the finishes we select for commercial environments.

And we believe a business worth building is one that keeps getting better. After twenty years we’re still learning — still investing in the tools, the people, and the processes that let us do better work than we did the year before.

Looking Ahead

The Next Chapter

This fall, Whitson Bros moves into a new, larger Nashville facility — the most significant investment we’ve made since starting out in that East Nashville basement. New space, new high-output CNC equipment, and the production capacity to take on more work without compromising the standards we’ve spent twenty years building.

It’s not a departure from what we’ve always done. It’s the natural next step for a shop that’s never stopped trying to get better.

Leadership

The Team

Jared Whitson

Co-Founder · Client Relations

Jared leads the client-facing side of the business — new relationships, project scoping, and making sure every client knows exactly what to expect from start to finish. He’s been the first call and the last word on every project since 2005.

Ezra Whitson

Co-Founder · Production

Ezra runs production — the shop, the schedule, and the standards. If Jared promises it, Ezra builds it. Twenty years of that dynamic is why the two sides of the business stay in sync.
